Uow Earns Employer Citation

THE University of Wollongong and its largest subsidiary Illawarra Technology Corporation have been recognised as an employer of choice for women by the Government's Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Agency.

A citation was awarded to 131 organisations across Australia in recognition of the agency's policies to attract and retain older workers, increasing the representation of women at executive levels and helping employees maintain work/life balance.

UOW Employment Equity and Diversity director Lynne Wright said the recognition reflected the university's commitment to developing a range of programs to support women in their career development and progression.

She had little doubt the citation would help improve female recruitment.
